SU Philosophy ClubThe Philosophy Club was started in Fall of 2006. The Philosophy Club was started to form a place where the discussions and collaborations of philosophy conducted by undergraduates, particularly those interested in general philosophical discourse, is encouraged. A related aim of the Philosophy Club is the developing of refined philosophical argumentation and facility with a wide range of topics and philosophical models as appropriate to general philosophical inquiry across specific sub-disciplines viz. metaphysic, ethics, logic, aesthetics, history of philosophy, ancient/modern philosophy and the philosophy of (....)s. The Philosophy Club is also sponsoring a forthcoming Undergraduate Journal, PRAXIS, which will collect term, or related quality, papers on any topic of the author's choosing, which is related in any broad way to philosophy. The purpose of the journal is to serve the wider University community through written intellectual exchange similar in nature to academic/scholarly journals. At present the Philosophy Club is still in its infancy but growing interest provides a hopeful outlook and a fertile ground in which the philosophical roots of the Philosophy Club can establish themselves. The website is located at http://www.suphilosophyclub.com. It is
designed as an online venue and web presence for the Philosophy Club,
facilitating an on-going exchange and discourse congruent with the
Club's vision. S. U. Home © Syracuse University CAS Home |
