Stewart Thau

Stewart Thau had published on topics in the philosophy of language. His most recent research interests focused on the nature of meaning. In 1988 he received the Chancellor's Citation for Distinguished Service to Syracuse University. He was Department Chair from 1973 to 1995, and again from 2002 to 2005. He also had served as Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Professor Thau passed away on May 13, 2008.
